WordWave Poetry Contest for Students (Deadline is March 27th)

REACHARTS and the SWAMPSCOTT PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENT:

WORDWAVE STUDENT POETRY CONTEST 

To participate in the Word Wave contest for students, please download and complete the attached form. Submit the form via email to swa@noblenet.org or drop off at Swampscott Public Library.

To enter you must live in Swampscott or attend a school located in Swampscott.

The contest is for 5th-12th grade students.

Winners will receive cash prizes ($10-$50); their poem will be published in the WordWave Anthology, and they will have an opportunity to read their poem at the Awards Ceremony/Anthology Launch.

RULES: Poem must be an original work that you wrote. We will check for plagiarism.

Poem should be no longer than 40 lines and kept to one page.

We require an entry form with each poem and 2 copies of the poem: one with your name and one without.  Only 2 poems per participant may be submitted.

No poems will be accepted after the deadline: No exceptions!

Lack of proper submission will result in disqualification.

Two ways to submit:

  1. Email: swa@noblenet.org In the subject line: Poetry Contest
  2. By paper: Any desk at library. Must be stapled together in this order: entry form, poem(s) with name, poem(s) without name. Call the library for further information at 781-596-8867.

DEADLINE: All entries must be submitted through email or to the library by March 27 at 5 pm. The winners will be notified on April 17.
