Biography
I have always painted or made crafts – it is what I do. I paint in gouache and oil, I have made silver jewelry and forged silver and I have made large sculptural ceramics. I think I like the process of doing it more than I care for the results – of course, I always hope to make that amazing painting or piece of craft. From the time I was a teenager to 1998, I have taught art on and off. I largely taught middle school art, but I have worked with all age groups. Now that I am retired from teaching, I have many more hours at my disposal but then I have added many more activities, including a co-presidency of Swampscott Arts Association which puts on a minimum of 6 exhibits a year. I like being busy, I am fortunate to have the stamina to accommodate it and I like to try new things, new subject matter, new techniques – but I do like using my accumulation of old tools
